Vector Design: Statue of Liberty

I created this “statue of liberty” entirely in vector using Adobe Illustrator. For those not familiar with vector art, it is much different than painting with a brush. Instead, designs are constructed through combining filled shapes of various color. For those familiar with vector art, you know how tedious it can be. The great thing is that vector drawings can be scaled to any size with no pixelation; unlike photographs and raster art (photoshop creations). I will eventually create a background scene for this design.

  1. Hey Derek! Thanks for the blog love and I really like “the615″ because we can see what other artists in our community are doing.

This statue of liberty vector is so awesome! I love love LOVE vector drawings but never have the patience to do them. Nice work!

  2. Hey Kristen, thanks for leaving the comment. Yeah vector drawings take a lot of patience, that’s for sure. I once drew the same thing in both Illustrator and Photoshop. They looked pretty much the same. The only difference was that the Illustrator drawing took twice as long. Atleast it was scalable lol.
