This image is a combination of original artwork and stock imagery. Basically it started as an original sketch which was scanned and imported into Photoshop. Using a Wacom drawing tablet, I begain adding paint to my drawing; mostly focusing on the creature itself.

The next step involved finding stock images that would work with my scene. Using the “stamp” tool, I was able to create the cave and and ground I was looking for. After a few painting touch ups, my first digital painting was complete.
