Banner Design For Local Church

July 28, 2009

I was asked to create a larger banner design for “Christian Life Church” of Murfreesboro, Tn. The banner was needed to promote some upcoming children events being held. The client wanted the design to be colorful, easy to read, and feature kids playing a common activity.

The time I was given to work on this project was quite limited; so rather than spending my time drawing up all original artwork, I instead spent my time choosing the right stock imagery to work with and piecing it together in a satisfactory way.

Even when working with stock imagery; a lot of time is still spent compiling suitable design elements. This process includes: finding and piecing together the artwork, achieving a proper layout, and choosing appropriate colors and typefaces to work with. When ever possible I try to include original artwork in my designs, however lower paying jobs and projects with tight deadlines sometimes make it more difficult.

After a couple of revisions with this design, I received the “ok” from the client, who was pleased with the final result. The banner was printed and is now being displayed for all to see.
